Secrets of the Catholic Church

What is this?

Looks like a fine marbled mosaic, attracting our gaze and lifting our minds to the ethereal plane to contemplate spiritual matters.

Or…

It could be the oil from numerous fingers that happens to be floating on the water’s surface in the holy water font.

This, then, becomes a matter of perspective. We can draw impressions and direct our thoughts in any number of ways by both the mundane and the magnificent. The key is what we do with these stimuli.

Do you tend to “miss God” in the details and busy of your daily routine? Are you waiting for fireworks? Chances are, if you are missing the everyday, the fireworks might get missed while your face is buried in your iPhone.

Look up. Listen. Be aware. God is active in his creation and he is worth noticing.
