Website Review 003: Internet Movie Database

Tactical Catholic’s Review of Internet Movie Database

You already know about imdb? Well of course you do. The internet movie database has been around for a while. What you may not have noticed is how IMDB has rolled with the times to adapt and improve its offerings. In fact, I would say this is one of the most fluid sites out there.

IMDB has a great responsive design that hugs whatever screen you choose to use. This morning, I loaded it on my lumia and it looks great. On my Surface it looks fantastic, and it even looks good on my old CRT Dell.

On IMDB you can find info on pretty much every legitimate movie ever made. Actors, directors, etc are cross referenced so you can see what other movies are out there or what other actors have done. Loads of photos, a plot summary, trailers, and reviews. My favorite feature, however, is the Parental Guide.

Parental Guide is a non-religious breakdown of a film’s contents. From here parents can check the levels of violence, language, sexual content, etc. Witbout spoiling the plot, I can usually determine if this film is worth my time or of it is chock full of bad stuff. You can also use this to check out a movie, show, or even VIDEO GAMES before your kid sees or hears something you don’t want them to see or hear.

Yes, I like the box office stats, and finding showtimes is handy, but I am telling you that the Parent Guide and reviews is my favorite.

Use IMDB and enjoy the movies again.
