Why You Need To Join The Knights of Columbus

I serve as Membership Director of my Knights of Columbus council, and I am personally inviting you to consider becoming a Knight of Columbus. That is, of course, if you are man enough.

I don’t care what you have seen or heard of the Knights. The Knights are the world’s largest men’s service fraternity. We are active in several countries, but especially in the United States. Our goal is to bring Christ to every man, woman, and child by serving and defending human dignity. We are strong – Catholic strong, and we do not back down.

The Knights of Columbus started very humbly, through the efforts of a concerned parish priest who wanted to help widows and orphans. What began small has developed over the past decades. I won’t spoil the fun. Go to kofc.org and look at the work we do around the world. Men, we do a lot.

Chances are you see Knights at work in your community, cooking, serving, cleaning, ministering, teaching, and leading. This is where you come in. The Knights of Columbus need men who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work with us. First off, you have to meet the basics. Are you…

  • A Catholic male 18 years or older? If not yet 18, consider the Columbian Squires.
  • Faithful to the full body of teaching and precepts of the Church?

We don’t want warm bodies. We want men who are active in their faith. We don’t need flakes who are in schism with the Church. We are looking for men willing to serve with us, to defend life with us, to stand up for truth with us. If that is you, contact me, and I will put you in touch with the right person in your neck of the woods. If you have a question I can answer I will do so to the best of my ability.

You will get out of the Knights of Columbus what you put in, and probably more than that. You will gain a network of strong Catholic men who will challenge you to grow in the practice of your Catholic Faith. You will have opportunities to serve in small and large ways. You will make new friends for yourself and your family. If you want to know more, I challenge you to contact me. My links section also has a direct link to the Knights of Columbus website.

Men, you need a network like this. Don’t try to do it alone. Join us. Accept the invitation to the experience of a lifetime.
